McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release

Releasing - Softening - Improving Flow - Reconnecting Our Body

Lets Talk About Scars

Even the smallest scar will be having an effect on the body. We may have a scar that looks well healed on the surface, but the fibrous scar tissue underneath the skin will be creating a tensional pull all of its own.

We need to be aware that this tension may be the cause of pain or restriction in a different area of the body. For example, the scar tissue created after having your appendix removed (an appendectomy), may result in Back Pain, Sacro-Iliac Discomfort or even issues with our knees later in life.

What Does McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release Do?

The gentle moves of MSTR enhance the integrity of scar tissue by:

  • Improving blood flow to the area;

  • Encouraging the flow and drainage of lymph, which will decrease swelling in the surrounding tissue;

  • Improving nerve transmission in and the around the scar which will help to normalize sensation and diminish pain;

  • Engaging our Parasympathetic Nervous System, facilitating deep relaxation and self healing;

  • Improving the appearance of scar tissue which may have a positive impact on our self esteem.

  • Facilitating an emotional release related to the trauma of the scar if this is what is needed.

You will notice positive changes in your scar tissue after just 1 treatment although very large scars may need a few sessions of treatment.

What People Say:

The soft tissue surrounding my scar feels softer and smoother, and feels less fragile which has helped me to feel more confident when I move my body... I feel more connection with my scar. My scar feels much more a part of me and I can touch it now, whereas before, I did not want to touch it at all.

Scar tissue is thicker and more fibrous than tissue that has not been damaged by surgery or trauma. Sometimes adhesions (bands of scar tissue) will form during the healing process. These adhesions may stick structures or organs together that would normally move freely against each other. This will affect mobility within the soft tissue and can create discomfort and pain in other parts of the body.

If we have had our scars from childhood, our bodies will have adapted to the tensional pull created by the scar tissue or adhesions. As our bodies are always trying to find balance, we will have developing compensatory patterns, which may be causing issues (ie. pain, postural issues) later in life.
